OUR PERSONAL CENTER HILL LAKE STORY

For years while our children were small our family would make weekend trips to water-ski on Center Hill Lake. We loved the lake, its beauty, coves we could ski in all day never seeing other boats, even on holidays, fishing with friends, and the serenity of the mountains surrounding this special place. It was always a full day early to get up and late to get home.

As our children grew up and moved out of the house Gordon and I decided to down size our home in Nashville and invest building chalets in Gatlinburg. It was a great investment but in time we realized that for personal enjoyment it just took too much time in travel to the mountains of East Tennessee.

One summer day at Center Hill Lake we realized that an investment of a life time was just 45 minutes from downtown Nashville and we could have a second home on this spectacular lake, almost in our back yard.

Knowing the beauty of the lake, Edgar Evins State Park and the small town friends from Smithville, TN., Center Hill Lake has now become what many individuals from the busy day to day living are looking for in a second home or maybe in retirement. Several great golf courses in the Dekalb County area and a county where taxes are the second lowest in the state of Tennessee, and where land is ready and waiting to be developed. We found the country feeling and the world actually seemed to slow down at a pace like one might find in a Norman Rockwell painting. The small country town of Smithville with a real square hosts the International Fiddlers Jamboree and Craft Show each year.

If we need something special, we knew we were 15 minutes down I-40 east to Cookeville. Here we find all the restaurants, movies and shopping we were used too.
